Autistic Needs Survey

We are proud to announce PCAA’s 2019 Autistic Needs Survey. In 2019, our volunteers worked together with our staff to create a survey that could help answer questions about the needs of our community. We heard from over 100 Autistic teens and adults in Allegheny County and surrounding areas. After many delays, as our work has taken unexpected turns through tumultuous times, we are excited to share the results with you here.

What's Next?

Over the past year, we have learned so much valuable information that was generously shared with us by our community. We have worked hard to focus on filling the gaps that Autistic people have shared with us. That means we have focused on providing peer support and social work services that are focused on eliminating the barriers our community has identified. We have provided dozens of Autistic adults the support they need to access food, medical care, mental health supports, housing, and so much more.

Going forward, we plan to revisit our Autistic needs survey in 2021 and learn more from our community. As the 2020 COVID-19 pandemic has changed the ways that we provide services, we want to ensure that we are listening to our community members and attending to their unmet needs as we move forward, building this vibrant community together.
